In January 2025, Batam's Exports Reached USD 1.77 billion

In January 2025, Batam exports reached USD 1,775.60 million, representing a 32.34% increase compared to December 2024. Along with exports, the value of imports also increased; in January 2025, the total value of imports reached USD 1,356.86 million, an increase of 6.52% compared to December 2024. Non-oil and gas exports were the main contributor to the increase in export value, increasing by USD 438.96 million, or about 34.74%. The non-oil and gas sector exports were primarily from the Electrical Machinery/Equipment group (HS 85), with an export value of USD 627.71 million, accounting for 36.87% of the total non-oil and gas exports of Batam City. The next largest contributors were ship exports, at USD 491.74 million, at around 28.89%; iron and steel articles, at USD 147.44 million, at around 8.66%; machinery and mechanical equipment, at USD 86.87 million, at around 5.10%; and fish and shrimps, at 0.08% of total non-oil and gas exports.

Major export destinations of Batam in January 2025 include Saudi Arabia with an export value of USD 498.18 million; the United States with an export value of USD 308.90 million; Singapore with an export value of USD 302.30 million; China with an export value of USD 90.25 million; Japan with an export value of USD 47.84 million; and Australia with an export value of USD 42.50 million. Regarding channels used for Batam's exports, Batu Ampar Port is the main export channel with a total export value of USD 1,363.98 million and Sekupang Port with a total export value of USD 165.99 million. Based on export volume, Batu Ampar Port exported 173,520 tonnes, and Belakang Pandang Port exported 137,690 tonnes.
