Zaini Makmur Sentosa (Zamasta) continues to strengthen Indonesia's agricultural sector through corn seed exports to Thailand.Zamasta Director, Wira Suryadi Zaini in his statement in Surabaya on Monday, that his party is focused on research and production of superior hybrid corn seeds, superior rice seeds, and biofertilizers. "With strict operational standards, the company has obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification to ensure that all business processes are oriented towards the best quality," he said. He said that after going through the exploration and cooperation process with several companies in Thailand, his party managed to secure an initial export agreement of 7 tons of hybrid corn seeds.
"With a similar climate structure between Indonesia and Thailand, we are confident that our products will be well received. Of course it is not easy to convince a country that is considered more advanced in agriculture to accept our products, but with the support of all our partners and stakeholders who are the best in their fields, we have succeeded in realizing this initial export," he said. In order to strengthen the seed sector, he said, his party is working with various corn seed breeders and internal teams to produce superior varieties.
"Not only that, the company is committed to buying partner harvests at a price higher than the market price of corn kernels, as a form of real support for the welfare of farmers," he said. In the next five years, his party is targeting exports to reach 1,000 tons, with the hope that more farmers can be involved in the company's growth.
