South Sumatra Company Exports 162 Tons of Rubber Powder to China for the First Time

The Indonesian rubber industry has once again demonstrated its existence in the global market. PT Rubber Innovation Indonesia, a company from South Sumatra (Sumsel) engaged in the recycling of rubber waste, successfully exported 162 tons of rubber powderto China in its first export on Monday (24/02). This step marks a new chapter for the company in expanding its market and introducing its processed products to the international world.

PT Rubber Innovation processes rubber waste from used heavy equipment tires into vulcanized rubber powder or rubber powder which has high economic value. This product has various uses, such as raw materials for making shoe soles, conveyor belts, horse racing, tennis courts, asphalt mixtures, and mixtures in building construction. Director of PT Rubber Innovation Indonesia Zheng Guo Jiang explained that this first export was not just a product shipment, but also a form of introduction to potential buyers abroad. "In the future, we hope that there will be continuity in the availability (supply) of raw materials to support the sustainability of exports," said Zheng Guo Jiang in his official statement, quoted by Pajak.com on Saturday (1/3/2025). With the increasingly broad export market, he is optimistic that the rubber recycling industry will continue to grow and have a positive impact on the economy. South Sumatra itself is known as one of the largest natural rubber producing areas in Indonesia. This potential makes the region an important player in the national and international rubber industry supply chain.
