The Government Prepares a Series of Stimulus Measures to Boost Economic Growth

The government is intensifying efforts to accelerate economic growth and achieve the 5.2% target for 2025 through various strategic policies, including social assistance programs and special stimulus measures for Ramadan and Eid. These policies aim to sustain economic momentum and ensure macroeconomic stability, particularly by monitoring household consumption and increased mobility during major religious holidays such as Nyepi and Eid. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto highlighted that supply and demand cycles, including increased production in the food, beverage, and textile industries, as well as rising electricity consumption and retail trade, will significantly drive growth in Q1 2025.

To further boost purchasing power, the government is optimizing social assistance programs, allocating IDR 150 trillion for the Family Hope Program (PKH) and additional funds to stabilize rice prices. Incentives such as early disbursement of holiday allowances (THR), discounts on domestic flights and tolls, retail shopping promotions, and tourism support programs will help stimulate consumer spending. Tax incentives, including VAT exemptions for electric vehicles and property purchases, are also in place to strengthen key industries. Additionally, efforts to expand small business credit (KUR) aim to bolster micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with disbursements reaching IDR 28.73 trillion as of February 2025.
