The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Lampung reported a foreign trade surplus of USD 238.2 million in January 2025, although slightly lower than January 2024’s USD 255.28 million. This surplus was driven by exports worth USD 477.54 million and imports totaling USD 239.26 million. Lampung's exports saw a significant increase of USD 139.60 million compared to January 2024.
The top export categories included animal/vegetable fats and oils, coffee, tea, and spices, with the U.S. as the largest export destination (USD 89.08 million, 18.65%), followed by Pakistan, the Netherlands, India, and China. The manufacturing sector dominated, contributing 63.88% of total exports (USD 305.05 million). Meanwhile, imports increased by USD 156.60 million, mainly consisting of raw materials (98.44%), reinforcing Lampung's growing role in industrial and trade activities.
