Indonesian Property Sector recorded IDR 122.9 trillion in Investment Realisations in 2024

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has reported Indonesia's investment realisation in the property sector to be IDR 122.9 trillion, contributing to a total realisation of IDR 1,714.2 trillion by 2024. This ongoing investment in Indonesia's property sector highlights the country's favourable investment climate, attracting both foreign and domestic investors. In 2025, Country Head of JLL Indonesia Farazia Basarah stated that the housing, industrial estate and office sectors will continue to contribute significantly to Indonesia's economic growth, supported by increased infrastructure needs, opportunities for business expansion and lifestyle development.

In addition, commercial property investment in Asia Pacific increased by 23% annually to USD 131.3 billion by 2024, with fourth quarter volumes rising 10% on an annualised basis to reach USD 34.9 billion, marking five consecutive quarters of annualised growth. During 2024, all major property sectors in the Asia Pacific region recorded quarterly cross-border investment volumes reaching the highest figure since the end of 2021 at USD 23.8 billion, a 43% increase from 2023. JLL predicts that 2025 will be a strong year for market entry, with early movers set to benefit from a less competitive environment, particularly in key sectors such as offices and logistics. By 2024, the office sector in Asia Pacific is expected to experience a 12% annual increase in investment volume, reaching USD 48.8 billion. Furthermore, the retail sector is expected to see a 28% annual increase in investment by 2024. JLL Asia Pacific's Head of Investor Intelligence, Pamela Ambler, highlights Asia Pacific's continued appeal for global investment, noting property valuations have undergone adjustments, creating robust opportunities for long-term investment and sustainable growth for strategic investors. Additionally, with central banks commencing interest rate reduction cycles and enhancing transparency in the region, Asia Pacific remains a favourable destination for investment.
