Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso released the first export of kratom products produced by CV Cahaya from Pontianak, West Kalimantan, which took place at PT. Oneject Indonesia, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Friday (28 Feb). The Minister of Trade explained that the exported products were 351 tons of kratom or 13 containers worth USD 1.05 million or around IDR 17 billion. This export is the first export of kratom since the implementation of the kratom export trade system, the regulations of which were issued at the end of 2024. The Minister of Trade appreciated the implementation of the first export of kratom. Kratom, which is exported in powder form, can be processed into various health and herbal products. The Minister of Trade also said that the moment of releasing kratom exports has been eagerly awaited by business actors.
Responding to the increase in added value for exported kratom, the Minister of Trade said that the Ministry of Trade has appointed PT. SUCOFINDO as a surveyor implementing verification or technical tracing of kratom exports equipped with a testing laboratory. This is a real form of government attention in helping business actors increase the added value of a commodity, in this case kratom. The Minister of Trade hopes that the release of the first export of kratom this time can be a momentum that continues to grow to encourage the expansion of the export market for Indonesian products while driving the national economy.
