Central Kalimantan recorded a significant increase in export value to key destinations in December 2024, with Japan, China, and Vietnam as the main export markets. Exports to Japan reached USD 159.46 million, contributing 38.22% of the province’s total exports, followed by China at USD 106.83 million (25.61%) and Vietnam at USD 28.33 million (6.79%). Compared to the previous month, exports to several countries, including Japan, China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Thailand, showed an upward trend, with Japan experiencing the highest increase of USD 28.76 million (22.00%). Meanwhile, India saw the biggest decline of USD 21.71 million (51.40%).
Year-on-year, export values fluctuated, with Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Thailand recording growth, while exports to China and India declined. The steepest drop was in exports to China, down by USD 108.64 million (50.28%), and India, which fell by USD 27.72 million (57.45%). Japan recorded the highest increase compared to December 2023, rising by USD 14.66 million (10.12%). Malaysia also saw a notable surge of USD 14.58 million, marking an 867.86% increase. Despite fluctuations, Central Kalimantan’s export performance remains strong in select markets, highlighting opportunities for further trade expansion.
