The government targets MSME exports to 33 countries, aiming for a total value of USD 18.84 billion this year, a 12.54% increase from the previous year. Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri stated that this initiative is part of Indonesia’s strategy to strengthen its export sector. To support this, the Ministry of Trade has partnered with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on February 24, 2025.
The MoU establishes a three-year commitment to enhancing MSME exports through supply chain improvements, workforce development, and export-support mechanisms. After two months of discussions, both ministries finalized the agreement to create better opportunities for MSMEs in global markets. This collaboration is expected to boost competitiveness, drive economic growth, and solidify Indonesia’s position in international trade.
