Trade Minister Budi Santoso officially released a container truck carrying dog toys made from coffee wood waste and coconut fiber for export to Europe and the United States. The shipment, valued at USD 225,000, was conducted in front of PT Eco Choo Indonesia in Purworejo on February 25, 2025. He emphasized the importance of synergy between small businesses and the Ministry of Trade’s export programs, encouraging local governments and export pioneers to support the expansion of Indonesian products into international markets.
Dewi Harlas, Director of PT Eco Choo Indonesia, highlighted that their Coffee Wood Dog Chew and Coconut Rope Dog Chew products have been successfully exported to the USA, UK, Belgium, and Germany. With prices ranging from USD 5 to USD 25 per piece, the demand remains strong. Initially, coffee wood and coconut fiber were discarded or burned, but recognizing their potential, the company transformed them into valuable export goods. Currently, raw materials are sourced from other regions, but efforts are being made to involve local coffee farmers in Purworejo as future suppliers.
