Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti discussed strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and Japan in the infrastructure sector. "We welcome the visit of the Vice Minister for Engineering Affairs, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, Masayoshi Hirose. We remain committed to strengthening cooperation with the Government of Japan to support sustainable infrastructure development and provide broad benefits to the community," said Diana in Jakarta, on Tuesday (February 25th). She emphasized Indonesia's commitment to international forums in the fields of infrastructure and water, one of which is through cooperation with the High-Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP).
Deputy Minister of PU Diana Kusumastuti met with the Vice Minister for Engineering Affairs, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) Japan Masayoshi Hirose in Jakarta on Tuesday. This discussion was held to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Japan in the infrastructure sector. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Diana also said that there were 10 projects sourced from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) loan worth USD 1.65 billion in the fields of irrigation, rivers and coasts, roads and the sanitation sector. There are 4 loan projects that will be funded by JICA, namely technical preparation for the improvement of the Sutami Dam in the Brantas River Basin, Volcanic Disaster Risk Reduction Sector, technical preparation for the Integrated Urban Flood Management Project in Jabodetabek and technical preparation for the development of the Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road Phase 1 and 2. Masayoshi Hirose hopes that this meeting can strengthen cooperation in the infrastructure sector between Indonesia and Japan. He also expressed his hope for continued cooperation in the field of asphalt recycling technology.
