On 19-20 February 2025 in Yogyakarta, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Organisation for Energy and Manufacturing Research (OERM) hosted the 12th International Conference on Sustainable Energy Engineering and its Application (ICSEEA 2025). ICSEEA 2025 addresses global energy demand, carbon emission reduction, and the integration of renewable energy and advanced testing technology in the manufacturing sector. It unites researchers, academics, and industry leaders to share knowledge, innovations, and solutions in sustainable energy and manufacturing. It features industry meetings and exhibitions from Parr Instrument USA and PT Sarana Laboratorium Instrumentation, showcasing the latest testing equipment and consulting services, as well as technology from the energy industry. Two key research areas at BRIN: are energy conservation for more efficient use and green manufacturing.
Adroit T.N. Fajar from Kyushu University presented the use of artificial intelligence for sustainable molecular technologies and the formation of new chemicals. Anelie Petrissans from Universite De Lorraine, France, and the LERMAB multidisciplinary research laboratory team are developing torrefaction technologies. Ismail Al-Faleh, Director of the National Measurements and Calibrations Center (NMCC) in Saudi Arabia, is working in the field of material and energy production. He explained how standardisation helps with the energy and manufacturing sectors in Saudi Arabia. Masahiro Hori from Shizuoka University presented nanomanufacturing for energy-saving applications and energy efficiency techniques for cryogenic Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) technology, while Tetsuya Niikuni, Director of the Environment Research Department at NTSEL, NALTEC, presented Japan's strategy for developing electric vehicles towards carbon neutrality.
