Giant Investment in North Sumatra: IDR 5 Trillion Medical Project!

Economy reports good news from North Sumatra. PT. Kawasan Industri Nusantara (Kinra), a subsidiary of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero), has just agreed to an investment cooperation worth USD 297 million or around IDR 4-5 trillion with investors from China. This large investment will be allocated to build a glove and medical equipment industry in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (KEK).

This agreement is the result of the visit of the President Director of PTPN III (Persero), Mohammad Abdul Ghani, to China in January 2025. This ambitious project is expected to be able to encourage the growth of the health industry in Indonesia, open up new jobs, and increase the competitiveness of medical products in Mohammad Abdul Ghani in his written statement expressed optimism about this project. He called the investment a strategic step by PTPN Group to support the government's program in strengthening the domestic industry, especially the health sector which has great potential. With the facilities available in the Sei Mangkei KEK, it is hoped that high-quality medical products will be created that are able to penetrate the international market. This project is believed to have a significant positive impact on the Indonesian economy in the global market.
