Central Kalimantan's Total Exports Reach USD 417.22 Million

The Central Kalimantan Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the province recorded total exports of USD 417.22 million in December 2024, consisting entirely of non-oil and gas commodities. This figure reflects a 17.07% increase from November 2024's exports of USD 356.39 million, with export volume rising by 30.99%. The mining sector contributed the most, accounting for USD 328.57 million or 78.75% of total exports, driven by commodities such as coal, zirconium ore, niobium, tantalum, lignite, and other minerals. The sector saw an increase of USD 34.41 million or 11.70% from the previous month.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector also experienced substantial growth, with exports reaching USD 83.63 million, contributing 20.05% to total exports. This represents a 34.39% increase from November, driven by key commodities such as palm oil, processed wood, crumb rubber, organic chemicals from agriculture, plywood, and oilseed residues. The surge in exports highlights the crucial role of the manufacturing industry in the province’s economy. With this continued growth, Central Kalimantan demonstrates strong potential in international trade, particularly in non-oil and gas commodities, which is expected to drive regional economic growth and improve local welfare.
