The United States (US) became the country with the largest market share for East Java's (Jatim) non-oil and gas exports in December 2024. The East Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that during this period, East Java's non-oil and gas exports to the US reached USD 316.20 million. "The United States is the main export destination country with a role of 15.31% of East Java's total non-oil and gas exports," said BPS East Java in its latest report, quoted Wednesday (2/19/2025). China is the country with the second largest market share that imports goods from East Java. Exports to China reached USD 302.22 million, with a role of 14.63% of East Java's total non-oil and gas exports in December 2024. Next, there is Japan with an export value of USD 280.58 million. East Java's non-oil and gas exports to Japan played a role of 13.58%, the third highest compared to other countries.
Furthermore, BPS Jatim also noted that non-oil and gas exports to regions outside ASEAN and the European Union during December 2024 still dominated with a contribution of 75.29% or with an export value reaching USD 1.55 billion. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region amounted to USD 383.84 million or with a role of 18.58% of the total value of East Java's non-oil and gas exports. "Malaysia is the main destination with an export value of USD 122.06 million or with a role of 5.91%. Vietnam and Singapore are next with non-oil and gas export values of USD 96.27 million and USD 69.93 million, respectively," explained BPS Jatim. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports to the European Union group of countries contributed 6.13% or with a value of USD 126.65 million. Exports to the Netherlands are the largest in the European Union region with a value of USD 30.47 million or a role of 1.48% of the total value of East Java's non-oil and gas exports in December 2024. Furthermore, exports to Germany and Estonia with a value of USD 26.00 million and USD 10.90 million or with contributions of 1.26% and 0.53% respectively to the total value of East Java's non-oil and gas exports in December 2024.
