NTB’s Jewelry Exports Grow by 21.89%

Jewelry and gemstone exports from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) reached USD 1.14 million in January 2025, marking a 21.89% increase compared to the same period in 2024. According to Wahyudin, Head of the NTB Central Statistics Agency, NTB’s high-quality jewelry continues to attract strong demand in international markets, particularly from Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand. With peak exports typically occurring in the fourth quarter, there is potential for further growth in the coming months.

In addition to jewelry, NTB also exported processed meat and fish (USD 965,532), fruits (USD 851,243), fish and shrimp (USD 729,983), salt, sulfur, and lime (USD 110,193), and oilseeds (USD 40,884). The United States, Puerto Rico, and several other countries were key destinations for processed meat and fish, while Vietnam, India, and Saudi Arabia imported NTB’s fruit exports. Despite the jewelry sector’s growth, NTB’s total exports in January 2025 stood at USD 3.88 million, a significant decline from December 2024’s USD 135.24 million. However, with the U.S. as the top export destination (USD 1.12 million) followed by Japan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, NTB’s trade prospects remain promising.
