The Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, expressed optimism that Indonesia’s economy and trade will continue to grow. Despite global trade challenges, Indonesia has maintained a trade surplus for 56 consecutive months, contributing to economic growth.
At the CEO Gathering Forum in Jakarta, Budi urged business players to support the Ministry's programs to protect the domestic market, expand exports, and enhance MSME exports. The Ministry is implementing export and import policies to safeguard the domestic market and attract foreign investment. With 19 trade agreements in place and more in progress, the focus is on opening markets and reducing trade barriers. Additionally, the Ministry has facilitated MSME exports through initiatives like business matching, with transactions reaching USD 5.22 million in January 2025.
