Customs Guards the Export of Dabai Fruit from Kalimantan to Malaysia

On Saturday, February 2, 2025, dozens of tons of local Kalimantan fruit were exported to Malaysia through the Jagoi Babang Border Crossing Post (PLBN) using pickup trucks and minibuses. The export, which included 28.2 tons of dabai fruit worth IDR 170.19 million, was closely monitored by Customs officers. Piasdo Muaranuli, Head of Customs at Jagoi Babang, explained that dabai, a seasonal fruit native to Kalimantan, is gaining recognition as a high-value export commodity. The fruit thrives in Kalimantan's soil and has the potential for further development as a plantation crop.

Dabai fruit is not only popular in Malaysia for its health benefits, including cancer prevention, antioxidants, cholesterol reduction, and diabetes type 2 prevention, but it is also used as a key ingredient in Malaysian cuisine. Piasdo emphasized that the growing export activities are expected to boost national foreign exchange, support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and improve the investment climate. "We will continue to assist MSME players in expanding their businesses and improving their welfare through increased export activities," he said.
