The signing ceremony was witnessed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Bogor Palace in West Java on Wednesday, February 12. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to strengthen cooperation in various agricultural sectors, including crop production, plant protection, livestock, animal health, as well as food and feed processing.
Through this MoU, both countries have agreed to enhance agricultural commodity exports from Indonesia to Turkey, driven by growing international demand for high-quality agricultural products. Key export commodities include coffee, palm oil, rubber, spices (such as pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon), tea, cocoa, tropical fruits (like mangoes, pineapples, and bananas), and livestock products such as poultry and processed meats. Additionally, wheat will be a major export from Turkey to Indonesia to support national food security. The cooperation also covers agricultural technology development, information exchange, technical training, joint research, and the implementation of digital smart farming practices. The MoU will remain in effect for five years, with potential renewal by mutual agreement. This partnership is expected to enhance market access and boost the competitiveness of agricultural products from both countries on the global stage.
