According to Wawan Setiawan, Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim), there are currently 60 young entrepreneurs registered as members of HIPMI in the region. However, the number of young people venturing into entrepreneurship continues to grow each year. To support this momentum, HIPMI Kotim welcomes aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to contribute to local economic growth through the organization. HIPMI Kotim is actively conducting various programs to shift the mindset of young entrepreneurs, encouraging them not to be discouraged by a lack of experience or capital. "We aim to change the perspective of young business owners so they are not pessimistic about starting their ventures," Wawan stated on Tuesday (February 11, 2025).
Recent data from the Central Kalimantan Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that all provinces in Kalimantan experienced economic improvement throughout 2024. East Kalimantan led with a growth rate of 6.17%, followed by South Kalimantan at 5.05%, while Central Kalimantan recorded the lowest growth at 4.46%. To enhance economic development and ensure Central Kalimantan keeps pace with other provinces, the role of young entrepreneurs, particularly HIPMI members, is essential. Their innovation and business initiatives will help drive sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.
