KPBU Scheme: The Ministry of Public Works Encourages Private and Foreign Investment for Infrastructure Development

The Ministry of Public Works (PU) remains committed to advancing national infrastructure development through the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme. This strategic approach addresses the limitations of the state budget (APBN) and attracts both domestic and foreign investments to accelerate the construction of quality infrastructure. Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasized that infrastructure development should not be hindered by budget constraints, and with private sector collaboration, strategic projects can be realized more efficiently.

The PU Ministry has set a target of IDR 544.48 trillion for infrastructure development through the KPBU scheme from 2025 to 2029, covering 11 water resources projects, 23 toll roads and bridges, and 11 housing projects. This initiative aims to optimize funding and project execution with the involvement of the private sector. Prioritized sectors include dams, reservoirs, toll roads, and bridges, which are crucial for water resilience, connectivity, and economic impact. With KPBU, the government ensures flexible financing while maintaining its role as a regulator and supervisor to ensure quality and sustainability in infrastructure development.
