HIMKI Holds IFEX 2025, Encouraging Growth of Furniture and Handicraft Exports to Global Markets

To discuss preparations for the 2025 Indonesia International Furniture Expo (Ifex), Trade Minister Budi Santoso met with representatives from the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta recently. The event will be held from March 6–9, 2025, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran. Ifex 2025 marks the 10th edition of this annual international furniture and handicraft exhibition. Minister Budi Santoso, known as Mendag Busan, emphasized that furniture and handicrafts are among Indonesia’s leading export products. He is confident that Ifex 2025 will further drive furniture exports through effective promotion.

Mendag Busan added that the Ministry of Trade is taking various steps to boost the export of furniture and handicrafts, including design support for rattan and wood products, business pitching sessions, and business matching activities with overseas trade representatives. HIMKI's leadership, including Chairman Abdul Sobur and several other key members, attended the meeting. This year's exhibition will connect Indonesian businesses with over 12,000 international buyers. Last year, Ifex attracted 13,370 visitors from 117 countries, contributing to a transaction volume of USD 300 million. In 2023, Indonesia ranked as the 19th largest global supplier of furniture and handicrafts, with exports reaching USD 2.46 billion. The global demand for these products grew by 15.09% over the last five years, with the global market projected to reach USD 925.46 billion by 2029.
