BPS: Sultra's Economic Growth In 2024 Increased By 5.40 Percent

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) reported that the economic growth in the Bumi Anoa region in 2024 increased by 5.40%. "Therefore, the economic growth in Sultra in 2024 is 5.40%, showing an increase compared to the previous year (2023), which was only 5.35%," said Surianti Toar, Head of BPS Sultra, when she was met in Kendari on Wednesday. Surianti mentioned that the economic growth occurred in the Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) of sectors, with the highest growth in the manufacturing industry at 12.98%, followed by public administration, defense, and mandatory social security at 11.98%, and information and communication at 7.81%. "Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors, which have a dominant role, grew by 3.85%," she said.


She explained that the highest growth in PDRB for expenditure components was achieved by the Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (LNPRT) consumption expenditure component at 12.42%, followed by government consumption expenditure at 9.02%, household consumption expenditure at 5.12%, and gross fixed capital formation (PMTB) at 2.09%. "Meanwhile, the export of goods and services component contracted by 5.77%. The import of goods and services component, as a factor reducing PDRB according to expenditure, also contracted by 9.38%," she explained. Surianti also revealed that the economy in the Bumi Anoa region is dominated by the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, contributing 23.48%, followed by mining and excavation at 21.13%. Large and retail trade, vehicle repair, and motorcycle repair accounted for 12.53%, construction 12.15%, and manufacturing industry 9.40%. Furthermore, household consumption expenditure dominated the economy at 46.14%, followed by the export of goods and services at 40.45%, gross fixed capital formation at 34.75%, government consumption expenditure at 12.17%, and changes in investment at 0.75%.
