The President Supports Increasing Investment to Reach IDR 3,414 Trillion by 2029

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his support for continuously increasing investment across various sectors in Indonesia to achieve the investment target of IDR 3,414 trillion by 2029. This statement was made after the Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, reported on Indonesia's investment achievements in 2024 and the new targets set for the coming years. Rosan emphasized that President Prabowo fully supports boosting investment due to its significant contribution to Indonesia's economic growth.


Rosan shared that Indonesia received IDR 1,714.2 trillion in investments in 2024, surpassing the initial target of IDR 1,650 trillion. This investment created 2.46 million new jobs, reflecting a 34.7% increase compared to 2023. In terms of distribution, 52.2% of the investment went to regions outside Java, totaling IDR 895.4 trillion, while 47.8% was directed to Java, amounting to IDR 818.8 trillion. Foreign direct investment (FDI) accounted for 52.5% of the total, reaching IDR 900.2 trillion, while domestic investment contributed 47.5%, or IDR 814 trillion. Additionally, investment in downstream sectors amounted to IDR 407.8 trillion in 2024, contributing significantly to industries such as mining, forestry, agriculture, petrochemicals, and electric vehicle batteries. Looking ahead, Rosan outlined the investment targets for each year through 2029, with the goal of reaching IDR 3,414 trillion by 2029, supported by an 8% economic growth target.
