The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, reported that the realization of investment in the ESDM sector in 2024 reached USD 32.3 billion, equivalent to around IDR 529.51 trillion (using an exchange rate of IDR 16,393.56 per USD). "The realization of our investment in the ESDM sector in 2024 is USD 32.3 billion," said Bahlil during a press conference titled "ESDM Sector Achievements in 2024 and Work Plan for 2025" at the Ministry of ESDM in Jakarta on Monday. He highlighted that the investment for 2024 increased by approximately 8% compared to 2023, from USD 29.9 billion in 2023 to USD 32.3 billion in 2024.
As in previous years, the investment in the ESDM sector was dominated by oil and gas (migas) with USD 17.5 billion, followed by minerals and coal (minerba) at USD 7.7 billion, electricity investments at USD 5.3 billion, and renewable energy and energy conservation (EBTKE) at USD 1.8 billion. "The trend in oil and gas investment in 2024 has seen a slight increase, from USD 14.9 billion to USD 17.5 billion. This means an increase of nearly IDR 40 trillion compared to 2023," said Bahlil. In the same session, Bahlil also reported that non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from the ESDM sector in 2024 reached IDR 269.6 trillion, a decrease of IDR 29.9 trillion compared to 2023, when PNBP was IDR 299.5 trillion. "Our target for PNBP in 2024 was IDR 234.2 trillion, but the realization was IDR 269.5 trillion, which shows a significant increase," Bahlil stated.
