The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Java, Darwis Sitorus, reported that the province's export performance in 2024 showed an increase compared to 2023. From January to December 2024, West Java's total exports reached USD 37.87 billion, marking a 3.39% increase over the same period in 2023. Non-oil and gas exports amounted to USD 37.53 billion, up by 3.47%. Nonetheless, exports in December 2024 rose by 9.56% compared to December 2023. In terms of export categories, the largest decrease in December 2024 was in electrical machinery, down by USD 35.16 million (6.34%), followed by mechanical equipment and footwear. West Java's export performance is largely driven by the processing industry, which accounts for nearly 99% of total exports.
