South Kalimantan Exports Reach USD 921.32 Million in December 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Kalimantan reported that exports from the region in December 2024 reached USD 921.32 million, a decrease of 17.63% compared to November 2024, which stood at USD 1.12 billion. When compared to December 2023, which saw exports of USD 1.08 billion, December 2024 experienced a decline of 14.72%. The largest export contributor in December 2024 was mineral fuels (HS 27), which accounted for USD 786.23 million. This value fell by 15.03% compared to November 2024’s USD 925.30 million. The second-largest contributor was animal and vegetable fats and oils (HS 15), with exports valued at USD 91.35 million, down by 39.09% from November 2024. Wood and wood products (HS 44) ranked third with exports valued at USD 17.65 million.


In terms of total export contributions in December 2024, mineral fuels (HS 27) provided the largest share at 85.34%, followed by animal and vegetable fats and oils (HS 15) at 9.92%, and wood and wood products (HS 44) at 1.92%. On the import side, South Kalimantan’s imports in December 2024 totaled USD 145.30 million, marking a 7.16% increase compared to November 2024 (USD 135.59 million). However, imports decreased by 19.16% compared to December 2023 (USD 179.75 million). The top five imported goods included mineral fuels (HS 27), ships, boats, and floating structures (HS 89), machinery and mechanical appliances (HS 84), organic chemicals (HS 29), and various chemical products (HS 38). These five categories made up 98.14% of the total imports for December 2024, totaling USD 142.61 million, which was a 7.66% increase from November 2024.
