The Malang City Government (Pemkot), East Java is ready to facilitate the export of processed food products owned by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to two countries, namely Australia and New Zealand at the end of February 2025. Eko explained that the process of sending processed food products owned by MSMEs in Malang City will be combined with the delivery of banana leaves to the two countries. There are also banana leaves to be processed into cooking utensils in New Zealand and Australia. The total amount of the two items is around 25 tons, made into one container," said Eko.
The export value of dozens of tons of processed food and banana leaves that will be sent to Australia and New Zealand is estimated to reach IDR 20 billion. Eko said that the total of all products are from 100 business actors. The Malang City Government together with a number of policy makers in the local area have provided export facilities for wood pellet products to South Korea. In addition, he stated that all MSMEs in Malang City have the same opportunity to obtain export facilities abroad, as long as their businesses have legality, including a trade business license (SIUP), business registration number (NIB), and distribution permit. He hopes that this step will bring all MSME products in Malang City up a class. Diskopindag of Malang City prepared training from 2024.
