The charm of Batam City as a leading investment area in Indonesia is indeed endless. This attraction was successfully captured by one of the leading Italian companies, which visited the Batam Business Agency, on Wednesday 22th January 2025. Together with the Chairman of the DPP of the Indonesian Employers' Association (APINDO) Kepri, Stanly Rocky, the group was received by the Head of the Public Relations, Promotion, and Protocol Bureau of BP Batam, Ariastuty Sirait and staff at the BP Batam Marketing Center. The agenda of this visit was to learn more about the investment potential in Batam City.
After listening to the presentation from BP Batam, one of the company executives admitted that he was amazed by Batam City's readiness to accommodate investor needs, especially industrial areas and physical infrastructure to support business activities in Batam City. He also highlighted the plan to develop a floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Tembesi Reservoir and Duriangkang Reservoir as BP Batam's commitment to environmental issues, as well as the plan to build a Light Rapid Transit (LRT) as an alternative to reduce congestion as well as an effort to reduce carbon emissions. "We did not expect Batam to have all the qualifications we need. We also hope that the plan to develop environmentally friendly infrastructure can be realized soon in Batam," said one of the investor representatives. Responding to this, the Head of the Public Relations, Promotion, and Protocol Bureau, Ariastuty Sirait expressed BP Batam's readiness to support the needs of investors to develop their business activities. She also expressed that BP Batam will fully support the proposed investment plan, hopefully together with APINDO Kepri all processes can run smoothly.
