Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita is targeting the industrial sector to contribute 20.92 percent to the national gross domestic product (GDP) by 2029 and grow 7.29% this year. "The industrial sector must also be able to contribute 17.96% to the national GDP this year and 20.92% in 2029," said Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in Jakarta. He said that with a smaller budget than the previous year, which was IDR 2.519 trillion, the governance carried out by his party must be more careful, to provide the best service for industry and the community. The strong performance of the manufacturing industry sector also needs to be supported by better service and bureaucratic performance. Therefore, every unit within the Ministry of Industry is required to improve budget performance, with a focus on risk management and more efficient procurement of goods or services. "I have set a budget absorption target, in September 2025 it must reach 60%, with the completion of the procurement process of goods or services in June 2025," he said.
Furthermore, the Minister of Industry stated that it is also necessary to optimize the use of electronic catalogs in the procurement of goods or services by at least 30%. Agus continued, optimizing the use of the electronic catalog must be a priority so that the implementation of procurement of goods or services in the future can be more effective, efficient, and in accordance with the targets that have been set. The use of the newly launched Version 6 electronic catalog is a breakthrough to optimize procurement, to be more efficient, transparent, and integrated with the SAKTI system from the Ministry of Finance. Previously, Ministry Agus stated that Indonesia's export performance was still supported by the manufacturing. The export performance of the non-oil and gas processing industry was USD 196.54 billion or contributed 74.25% of the total national export value which reached USD 264.70 billion.
