Ternate Customs facilitates the first export of nickel processing products in the form of ferronickel owned by PT. Karunia Permai Sentosa on Obi Island, North Maluku. The first export was carried out last week, with direct delivery through the port owned by PT. Karunia Permai Sentosa on Obi Island. The Head of the Ternate Customs Office, Jaka Riyadi, said that the ferronickel product exported was one bulk with a total weight of 9,975.238 metric tons with an estimated export foreign exchange of USD 12 million. He said that the achievement of this first export was one of the concrete steps taken by Ternate Customs in providing assistance in the field of customs and excise to support the development of the domestic industry as per the downstream policy initiated by the government.
PT Karunia Permai Sentosa is a company that receives Bonded Zone facilities from Customs and Excise so that it is able to support processing activities and export activities of high-value mining products. By utilizing Bonded Zone facilities, companies benefit because imported goods are given a suspension of import duties, exemption from excise, and/or are not subject to import taxes (PDRI).
