The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Canadian oil and gas company, FalconRidge Oil Ltd (FalconRidge). This collaboration includes the development of petrophysics, geology and geophysics, hydrocarbon exploration, and other production. The signing of the MoU was carried out by the Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto, together with the President and CEO of FalconRidge, Skip Lewis Taylor. Djoko stated in an official statement on 21th January 2025 that the signing of this MoU is a strategic step to increase the productivity of the oil and gas sector, while also supporting the national economy through the contribution of this sector.
FalconRidge, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This international oil and gas company is engaged in the exploration and development of unconventional oil and gas assets. Their technology 'Terra Slicing Technology' is expected to increase oil well production, including wells that are already producing, dead wells, and low-production assets. This collaboration is also a follow-up to the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 110 of 2024 concerning the optimization of oil and gas production through the management of potential work areas that have not been cultivated. Knowledge Transfer for Local Workforce In addition to technology development,FalconRidge will also be involved in capacity building initiatives through training and workshops. This program aims to transfer knowledge and skills to Indonesian professionals, especially local employees, in order to improve expertise in the fields of oil and gas technology and operations. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the national energy reserve base, encourage the sustainability of the oil and gas sector, and provide real benefits for economic development and the competence of Indonesian human resources.
