The Ministry of Trade has set a target of 7.1% growth in Indonesia's exports by 2025. Fajarini Puntodewi, Director-General of National Export Development at the Ministry, emphasized that this goal aims to support President Prabowo’s broader economic growth target of 8%. To achieve this, the Ministry is focusing on expanding market access through extensive negotiations and strengthening domestic collaboration to ensure Indonesian products meet international standards and can reach new export markets. Key target regions include the Gulf countries, Australia, and South Africa.
In 2024, Indonesia’s trade performance showed positive results, with a surplus of USD 31.04 billion, driven by exports totaling USD 264.7 billion. The non-oil and gas sector contributed significantly, with a surplus of USD 4.0 billion in December 2024. This was supported by strong exports of commodities like precious metals, mineral fuels, and chemicals, as well as manufactured products like vehicles. Major export destinations, including China, the United States, and India, continue to play a key role in driving Indonesia’s export growth.
