The Jambi Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine Agency (Jambi Quarantine) has recorded an important achievement in supporting PT. KPP in conducting its first export of live crab commodities to Singapore. This export was carried out in January 2025 with a shipment volume of 32 kilograms of live crabs. This step marks the success of the long-standing collaboration between Jambi Quarantine and PT. KPP in preparing export quality standards in accordance with international regulations.
Head of the Fish Quarantine Team, Sukarni said that this success cannot be separated from the intensive assistance and coaching carried out by Jambi Quarantine since 2022. So far, PT.KKP has only traded crabs in the local Jambi area, as of January 2025, the good collaboration between Jambi Quarantine and PT. KKP has finally been able to penetrate the export market. Jambi Quarantine continues to assist PT. KPP through the implementation of Good Fish Quarantine Practices (CKIB) at the Fish Quarantine Installation (IKI) owned by PT. KPP. This monitoring aims to ensure the quality and health of exported crabs. This approach includes strict supervision of quarantine procedures, health testing, and fulfillment of export documents. The Head of Jambi Quarantine, Sudiwan emphasized that the success of this export is proof of Jambi Quarantine's support in making the 2025 export launch by the Governor of Jambi a success. This success opens the door for the development of Jambi's fisheries sector to be more advanced and competitive at the international level. And Jambi Quarantine is a strategic partner in supporting exports.
