NTB's Export Value Reaches USD 13.524 Million in December 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the export value of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Province reached USD 135.24 million in December 2024, largely driven by mining commodities. Head of BPS NTB, Wahyudin, stated in Mataram on Wednesday that the export value in December 2024 saw a significant increase of 2,332% compared to November 2024. "Mining exports made a substantial contribution, accounting for 94.65% of the total exports," Wahyudin said.

He explained that the value of mining exports amounted to USD 128.01 million, or 94.65% of the total export value. In November 2024, mining exports were recorded at zero, resulting in a much smaller export value of only USD 5.56 million. BPS confirmed with PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara that the export of raw mining materials in December 2024 was due to the company's warehouse capacity being fully utilized. "The export occurred because AMMAN's mining storage warehouse reached full capacity," Wahyudin added. Additionally, the smelter warehouse facilities were not yet fully operational due to ongoing construction projects, forcing raw mining products to be exported abroad. Mining exports were shipped to China through the Benete Port in West Sumbawa Regency. Other notable exports from NTB included jewelry worth USD 3.81 million (2.82% of total exports), shipped to Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong, as well as fish and shrimp exports worth USD 1.94 million (1.43% of total exports), primarily to the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. Fruit exports, valued at USD 772,862 (0.57% of total exports), were sent to Vietnam and China.
