The export value of Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) in November 2024 reached USD 51.95 million, marking a 6.43% increase compared to October 2024 and a significant 32.83% rise from November 2023, which recorded USD 39.11 million. According to Herum Fajarwati, Head of DIY Statistics Agency (BPS), the United States remains the largest export destination with USD 20.93 million, contributing 40.13% to DIY's total exports. Germany ranked second with USD 4.67 million (8.95%), followed by Japan with USD 4.32 million (8.28%). Other countries, including Australia, the Netherlands, and Vietnam, contributed less than USD 2.5 million each, accounting for less than 5% individually.
From January to November 2024, the US dominated DIY exports with a total value of USD 212.33 million (43.54%), followed by the European Union at USD 113.39 million (23.25%) and ASEAN at USD 12.34 million (2.53%). Key export commodities in November 2024 included non-knitted apparel (USD 16.59 million, 31.81%), knitted goods (USD 9.72 million, 18.63%), and lighting furniture (USD 5.29 million, 10.14%). Cumulatively, non-knitted apparel led exports from January to November 2024 with USD 170.33 million (34.93%), while knitted goods and lighting furniture contributed USD 57.50 million (11.79%) and USD 55.29 million (11.35%), respectively. The agricultural sector saw a monthly surge of 670% and a yearly increase of 541.67%, driven by cashew exports to Vietnam, reaching USD 2.31 million in November 2024. Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector contributed USD 49.64 million, accounting for 99.06% of total exports during the January–November period, with a 2.35% monthly and 28.10% annual growth.
