The fisheries export value from Maluku in 2024 reached USD 49.05 million, a decline of 18.27% compared to 2023. While live fish exports increased by 10.2% in value and 5.26% in volume, non-live fish exports saw a significant decrease of 20.4% in value and 25% in volume. Key exports included vannamei shrimp, tuna, grouper, and mangrove crabs, sent to 17 countries, with major destinations being China, the U.S., Japan, and Vietnam. The Marine and Fisheries Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency (BPPMHKP) Ambon noted that the export value of fishery commodities from Maluku in 2024 reached USD 49,055,320, compared to the same period in 2023 of USD 60,024,535, so there was a decrease in export value of 18.27 percent said Head of BPPMHKP Ambon, M Hatta Arisandi.
In the export of live fishery commodities for the January-December 2024 period, the export value of these commodities was USD 4,760,580 compared to the export value of live fisheries in the same period in 2023 of USD 4,319,805, so there was an increase of 10.2 percent. The total export value of Maluku's live fishery commodities, the export volume reached USD 421,304. Meanwhile, the export volume of non-live fishery commodities in the January-December 2024 period was 8,470 tons. The export value of non-live fishery commodities in the January-December 2024 period was USD 44,294,740. Fishery commodity exports in Maluku for the January-December 2024 period were dominated by vannamei shrimp, tuna, Live Grouper, and mangrove crab. It went to 17 countries, namely China, the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Netherlands, Ghana, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom.
