Berau's Seafood Exports to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore See Significant Increase

The Public Service Agency (BLU) of the Kalimarau Class I UPBU Office has successfully shipped seafood exports for the 11th time through Kalimarau Airport. In this shipment, two packages of Fresh Tiger Prawns weighing 25 kilograms were exported to Singapore. The head of the BLU Office, Ferdinan Nurdin, emphasized that these seafood exports through Kalimarau Airport demonstrate the progress in the fisheries sector of Berau. He noted that the increase in seafood exports not only has a positive impact on the region's economy but also opens opportunities for local fishermen and fisheries entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.

Since the first shipment, Kalimarau Airport has exported a variety of seafood commodities, including live mangrove crabs and fresh pomfret fish to Kuala Lumpur, totaling 3,223 kg, and fresh pomfret fish, white fish, and tiger prawns to Singapore, amounting to 1,189 kg. In addition, there was a small shipment to Shanghai, consisting of ribbon fish and shrimp, weighing 92.4 kg. Overall, Berau's seafood exports have reached 153 packages, totaling 4,504.4 kg. Ferdinan highlighted that these figures show significant growth in exports, particularly to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, underscoring the high quality of Berau’s seafood that meets global market demands. He hopes that this success will encourage the growth of innovative new businesses contributing to the region's development, with the BLU Office committed to improving facilities and services to further support export activities.
