Maluku's exports from January to November 2024 totaled USD 58.57 million. According to the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Maluku Province, Maritje Pattiwaellapia, China dominated the export market during this period, accounting for approximately 70.93% of Maluku's total exports. Exports to ASEAN countries in the same period were valued at USD 8.75 million, marking an impressive 179.53% increase compared to the same period in 2023. In contrast, exports to other Asian regions decreased by about 17.55%, with significant declines to South Korea (-99.67%), Japan (-34.22%), and India (-64.43%). Exports to non-Asian countries also saw a reduction of around 33.88%.
The exports from Maluku during this period consisted of both oil and gas (migas) commodities, valued at USD 14.18 million, and non-oil and gas (nonmigas) commodities, valued at USD 44.36 million. Nonmigas exports primarily included tuna, grouper, frozen fish, frozen shrimp, other frozen marine life, live crabs, ornamental fish, as well as rubber and specialized printing products. Compared to the same period in 2023, Maluku's total export value declined by approximately 8.09%. The largest share of exports was shipped through Yos Sudarso Port in Ambon, accounting for 68.54% of the total. Meanwhile, exports through Tual Port rose by about 8.93%, and Bula Port saw an increase of 27.01%. However, exports from Yos Sudarso Port dropped by 14.95%, and exports through Pattimura Airport decreased by 22.37%.
