Minister of Trade Budi Santoso is optimistic that Indonesia's economic growth will reach 5.1% to 5.2% in 2025. He hopes that Indonesia’s economic growth will continue to improve over the next five years, ultimately reaching 8% by 2029. "The expectation is that Indonesia's economic growth will continue to rise in the next five years, aiming to hit 8%, as targeted by President Prabowo Subianto," said the Minister during a press conference on the performance achievements of the Ministry of Trade and the performance targets for 2025, held on Monday, January 6, 2025.

The Minister also noted that several global institutions predict that global economic growth in 2025 will be in the range of 2.7% to 3.2%, slightly better than in 2024. Furthermore, the Minister added that to achieve these targets, his team has calculated the export targets that need to be met between 2025 and 2029. These calculations take into account various factors such as global GDP, Indonesia's GDP, exchange rates, and global commodity prices. "We have carefully calculated the export targets for the 2025-2029 period, considering factors like global GDP and Indonesia's GDP," he emphasized.
