Bappenas: Total Investment Needs for 2025-2029 Reach IDR 47 Trillion

Siliwanti, Expert Staff at the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) for Economic Synergy and Financing, stated that Indonesia's total investment needs for the 2025-2029 period amount to IDR 47.587.3 trillion. "On average, this is about IDR 9,517.5 trillion per year," she said in Jakarta on Wednesday. This investment will come from three main sources: the government, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and the private sector. According to Siliwanti, efficient and transformative investments are key to driving economic growth during 2025-2029, with private sector investment being the largest contributor.

Private sector and community investment is expected to account for approximately 86.7%, or around IDR 41.277 trillion. Government investment is projected to be around 6.9% or IDR 3,282.7 trillion, while state-owned enterprises (BUMN) are expected to contribute 6.4% or IDR 3,027.7 trillion. "This underscores the crucial role of the private sector and society in supporting the national economy moving forward," she added. Indonesia is targeting an 8% economic growth over the next five years, with key requirements including increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) to 2% of GDP, boosting industrial share in GDP to 21.9% by 2029, achieving $400 billion in exports, and improving the global value chain share to 1.4%. Other targets include increasing state revenue to 18% of GDP, national expenditure to 20% of GDP, and food production by 20 million tons of rice, along with a significant boost in the tourism sector’s GDP contribution.
