The Director General of Sustainable Forest Management (Dirjen PHK) at the Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut), Dida Migfar Ridha, shared this update during the hybrid Live Event on the Performance of the Forestry Industry in Enhancing the Added Value of Processed Forest Products. The event aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the operations of 540 forest product processing industries and strengthen the marketing of forest products certified under the Timber Legality Verification System (SVLK) in both domestic and global markets. The event took place in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The event included the launch of several key initiatives, such as the Information System for the Directorate General of PHK, focusing on Forest Product Processing and Marketing (SiHutanku.ID, SVLK+, and E-Catalog). It also featured the release of SVLK+ certified processed forest products for export to global markets, a forest products exhibition, and a workshop on enhancing the performance of the forestry industry through strengthening domestic and export markets for processed forest products. In his remarks, the Director General highlighted several innovations aimed at increasing the added value of forest products and forest areas, including SVLK+ for improving product traceability in global markets. This initiative helps ensure that each exported product can be accurately traced to its origin, thus enhancing legality and ensuring sustainable forest management. Additionally, the SiHutanku.id marketplace aims to support sustainable industrial raw material sourcing and marketing of forest products, while the E-Catalog simplifies access for forestry businesses, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to government procurement markets. These innovations are designed to make marketing more transparent and efficient, creating equal opportunities for all stakeholders. The launch of these three information systems is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of the forestry industry and ensure the sustainability of Indonesia's forest products, contributing to increased exports to both global and domestic markets for SVLK-certified products.
