Investments in Nusantara Capital Reach IDR 58.4 Trillion

The development of Nusantara, Indonesia's new capital city located in Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan, has attracted investments totaling IDR 58.4 trillion through eight groundbreaking projects. According to Troy Pantouw, Public Communications Advisor to the Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), several of these projects are already operational. Among the completed developments are Mayapada Hospital, Hermina Hospital, and Hotel Nusantara. Additionally, the 10-megawatt Nusantara Solar Power Plant, a collaboration between the State Electricity Company (PLN) and Sembcorp Singapore, is now supplying renewable energy. The projects span from 2020 to 2024, with government-funded initiatives achieving 61.7% completion across 109 contracts.

OIKN emphasizes the construction of core facilities for the executive, legislative, and judicial sectors to ensure Nusantara functions as a fully operational capital city. The Central Government Core Area (KIPP) is making significant progress, with infrastructure for the executive branch nearing completion and expected to be operational by 2025 to facilitate the gradual relocation of civil servants (ASN). Legislative and judicial infrastructure, including buildings for the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representative Council (DPD), People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Supreme Court, and other judicial institutions, is targeted for completion by 2028. This timeline aligns with the goal of establishing Nusantara as Indonesia’s fully functional new capital city.
