The Head of the West Java Provincial Tourism and Culture Office, Benny Bachtiar, attended the Creative Economy Institutional Coordination Meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The event, initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy (Menekraf/Bekraf), aimed to support the government's target of making the creative economy a new engine for national economic growth. This gathering was part of efforts to align and strengthen the role of creative industries in driving regional and national economic development.
The meeting was officially opened by the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, and was attended by key figures such as the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Acting Secretary of Menekraf Dessy Ruhati, Acting Deputy for Strategic Development of Creative Economy Cecep Rukendi, Acting Director-General of Regional Financial Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Horas Maurits Panjaitan, Deputy for Economic Affairs of BAPPENAS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and other invited guests. During the meeting, a joint decree (SKB) was signed between Menekraf and the Ministry of Home Affairs on the guidelines and formation of Creative Economy Agencies at the provincial and municipal levels. The decree aims to facilitate the administration of creative economy affairs at the local government level. Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized that quick collaboration through this coordination is essential for supporting the government’s target to position the creative economy as a new growth engine. He expressed hope that the SKB would strengthen local government attention to creative industries, helping them realize their potential as key drivers of regional economic growth. Additionally, the issuance of Presidential Regulations No. 199 and 200 of 2024 highlights the government's commitment to making the creative economy a major contributor to Indonesia's economic development, with an expected impact on achieving the 8% national growth target.
