Trade Minister Dispatches IDR 2 Billion Craft Exports to Global Markets

Trade Minister Budi Santoso officially dispatched craft product exports worth USD 127,070 (approximately IDR 2.06 billion) from Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region, on Monday, 25 November 2024. The exported crafts, produced by PT Out of Asia, a subsidiary of PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk, are destined for global markets, including the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Highlighting the potential of Indonesian crafts in international markets, the minister emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, exporters, and MSMEs. "We see significant potential in our craft products. By exploring new markets, including non-traditional ones, and fostering strong collaboration, we can build a robust export system," Budi stated in Bantul.

The shipment, comprising craft items that meet international quality standards, has garnered positive global responses. These efforts not only boost artisan income but also serve as a pivotal step in introducing Indonesia’s cultural heritage to the world. PT Out of Asia, in collaboration with local artisans, provides training and guidance to ensure products align with modern market demands while preserving cultural identity. The dispatch of IDR 2 billion worth of exports highlights the successful synergy among large corporations, the government, and MSMEs. PT Out of Asia hopes this initiative will expand opportunities in international markets and enhance the welfare of local artisans.
