The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) announced that 15 upstream oil and gas (O&G) projects are set to commence operations in 2025. According to SKK Migas Chief Djoko Siswanto, these projects will attract investments totaling USD753.2 million (approximately IDR 11.93 trillion). The projects aim to enhance production capacity with a capital expenditure (capex) of USD 753.2 million, contributing to 66,124 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and 845.4 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMscfd). Combined, this equals 217,088.3 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). Total production for 2025 is projected at 57,576.5 bopd, 749.7 MMscfd of gas, and 191,451.5 boepd.

The projects include various operators such as Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Medco EP Grissik Ltd, and Premier Oil Natuna Sea BV, targeting significant production milestones. Notable projects include the Balam GS Upgrade by Pertamina Hulu Rokan, with an estimated capacity of 35,000 bopd, and Senoro Selatan by JOB Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi, producing 110 MMscfd gas. These initiatives are expected to strengthen Indonesia’s upstream O&G sector. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized the critical tasks ahead for Djoko Siswanto as the newly appointed Head of SKK Migas. These projects represent Indonesia’s commitment to boosting energy production and attracting foreign investment in the upstream sector.
