Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, stated that Indonesia's economy in the fourth quarter of 2024 must grow by 5.3% year-on-year (YoY) in order to meet the overall economic growth target for the year of 5.1%. This target is part of the revised forecast for the national economy, reflecting adjustments made in response to economic conditions throughout the year. The growth target for 2024, which is outlined in the State Budget (APBN), had originally been set at 5.2% but was later revised downward.
The revision of the economic growth target for 2024 is a reflection of the challenges facing the economy in the first half of the year, which prompted the government to adjust expectations. Despite this adjustment, achieving 5.3% growth in the fourth quarter remains crucial to ensure that the overall target of 5.1% can still be met. The government is focusing on strategic measures to stimulate growth in the final quarter, aiming to boost consumption, investment, and exports to support the country's economic recovery.
