The impressive progress of KEK Kesehatan (Health Economic Zone) in Sanur, Denpasar, Bali, which has emerged as one of the top five economic zones in Indonesia. KEK Kesehatan Sanur has made significant strides, including attracting Rp2.99 trillion in investment in the first half of 2024 and ranking fourth nationally among all economic zones. It also achieved second place in the services category, showcasing its strong performance in terms of investment and economic impact. The Dewan Nasional KEK (National Council of Special Economic Zones) emphasizes that this health-focused zone is set to begin operations in less than three years, underlining its rapid development.
The development process began in December 2021, and by mid-2024, KEK Sanur had already absorbed 2,853 workers, with a further 495 workers employed during the year, highlighting its contribution to job creation. This growth is significant for Indonesia’s broader goal of economic growth and job creation in key sectors such as healthcare and tourism. The LPEM UI (Institute of Economic and Social Research, University of Indonesia) acknowledges KEK Kesehatan Sanur as a top performer, contributing not only to investment but also to job absorption and economic growth.
