The Special Economic Zone (KEK) is emerging as a vital infrastructure to drive Indonesia's economic growth and attract global investment. Among Indonesia's KEKs, the Java Integrated Industrial & Ports Estate (JIIPE) in Gresik stands out. During his recent visit, Singapore’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Kwok Fook Seng, expressed hope that JIIPE’s development would foster an innovative and sustainable industrial sector. Praising the project’s progress, he noted the integrated approach and rapid project realization as concrete proof of AKR Corporindo and PELINDO's commitment, with Indonesian government support, to deliver world-class facilities. "JIIPE’s comprehensive infrastructure is highly strategic for supporting Indonesia’s economic growth and attracting global investment," Ambassador Kwok stated on Sunday, 3 November 2024.
Designated as Indonesia's top Special Economic Zone for Industry this year, JIIPE has established an integrated industrial ecosystem that combines port access, manufacturing infrastructure, and modern logistics facilities. The zone reflects a strategic partnership between Indonesia and Singapore, attracting global companies focused on sustainability and long-term growth in Southeast Asia. AKR President Director Haryanto Adikoesoemo highlighted the importance of international partnerships in JIIPE’s development, remarking, "JIIPE, as an AKR subsidiary, plays a strategic role in our vision to enhance Indonesia’s industrial infrastructure. The support from international stakeholders, including the Singapore delegation, showcases global confidence in JIIPE’s potential as a sustainable and internationally competitive industrial hub." JIIPE Director Bambang Soetiono added that collaboration with international partners such as Singapore will solidify Gresik’s KEK position as a sustainable investment and industrialization hub. Featuring world-class facilities and direct port access, JIIPE aligns with Indonesia’s vision for sustainable development and provides an attractive investment destination in the region.
