The Chairman of Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, views Presiden Prabowo Subianto’s upcoming attendance at the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil as a strategic opportunity to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to Indonesia. During a gala dinner in Jakarta with international ambassadors on Friday, Anindya emphasized that the President’s diplomatic missions are vital to securing much-needed FDI, essential for Indonesia's economic growth and industrial transformation. He highlighted that Prabowo’s participation in these international forums can broaden Indonesia’s access to global markets and deepen trade relations, boosting exports.
Anindya further underscored the importance of prioritizing export-driven industrialization and fostering collaborations with new trade partners to accelerate Indonesia’s industrial progress. He will accompany President Prabowo on his tour, which includes planned visits to China, the U.S., and ultimately to APEC in Peru and the G20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, concluding in the United Kingdom. Notably, Prabowo’s role at the G20 Summit will not only represent Indonesia but also the ASEAN region. The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, confirmed that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will temporarily assume presidential duties during Prabowo’s international tour.
